- CBCT - differentiation of resorption: physiological, trauma-induced, inflammatory, as a symptom of syndromes, spontaneous against the background of a growth spurt during tooth change, due to endogenous damage to the dentition, accompanied by delayed eruption and idiopathic root resorption, which was not preceded by either traumatic or radiation exposure, no dental intervention.

Lezione 5.Dental and periodontal tissue trauma - various types of classifications, an overview of all possible injuries in the maxillofacial area
1. Enamel break - should they be treated and how?
2. Are uncomplicated crown fractures so simple - how to predict complications?
3. Minipulpotomy and classical pulpotomy or extirpation - how to decide on a treatment plan for a complicated crown fracture.
4. Features of endodontic treatment of teeth with open apex. Crown-root fractures - what techniques should be used for “deep” fractures when the border is not visualized
5. Root fracture: Treatment tactics for different levels of fracture - is it necessary to splinter and for how long? When to perform endodontic treatment and how?
6. Subluxation and contusion of a tooth - how to distinguish and what complications should the patient be warned about?
7. Lateral and impacted dislocation - differential diagnosis and choice of treatment method. Orthodontic and surgical reposition, spontaneous reposition - techniques, criteria for choosing treatment tactics and risks.
8. Complete dislocation - a modern view of replantation. How long after injury can I replant? How to store a tooth? Patient instructions for self replantation.

Lezione 6.Autotransplantation
1. Biological principles of autotransplantation - mechanisms of periodontal, pulp, and alveolar bone restoration.
2. Complications of autotransplantation - transplant rejection (clinical aspects). Inflammatory resorption, ankylosis - causes and provocative factors, prevention of complications and their treatment.
3. Choosing a suitable case for AT - at what age can AT be used, which teeth can be used as a donor? Using a temporary tooth as a donor.
4. Recipient area. What if there is inflammation in the recipient area? What if there is a loss of attachment or a bone defect in the recipient area? Can transplantation be performed in native bone?
5. Features of the technique of performing AT in the case of incomplete formation of the root of the donor tooth. At what stage of formation is it optimal to perform transplantation?
6. 3D surgery planning - surgical guide - what is it for?
7. Tools and equipment required to perform AT.

Dr Vierrou is currently Past President of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD). She has been in the Board of the IAPD since 2011, holding the positions of Representative of the Nations (2011-2015), President Elect (2015-2017), President (2017-2019), Chair of Membership Committee(2011-2013), Chair of the IT Committee (2013-2015), Chair of the Awards Committee (2015-2017), member of the Congress Site Selection and Coordination Committee (2011- today). She held the position of Secretary General in the Organizing Committee of the 23rd IAPD Congress, Athens 2011.
Dr Vierrou has served in the Board of the Hellenic Society of Paediatric Dentistry (HSPD) for the period 1994-2017 holding the positions of Treasurer (1997-2003), Secretary General (2003-2009), Vice President (2009-2012), President (2012-2015) and Past President (2015-2017).
She was one of the paediatric dentists who signed the inauguration act of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD) in 1990, in Boston, USA and in the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry she has been appointed in the following positions: Councilor for Greece 2000-2004, Member of the Credentials Committee 2004-2006, Member of the Clinical affairs Committee 2006- 2012. She was appointed Moderator in the 2009 EAPD workshop for establishing the MIH guidelines and she participated in the workshops for the guidelines on the topics of Sedation, Fluoride, Space Management and Interception of Malocclusion in the developing dentition.
Dr Vierrou has been appointed as clinical instructor in the Department of Paediatric Dentistry of the University of Athens for ten years. She is the author of several scientific articles published in Greek and international journals and has participated as invited speaker, moderator and chair in several national and international congresses.
She runs a private practice limited to Paediatric Dentistry in Athens.
