La sua ricerca è focalizzata su endodonzia minimamente invasiva, riassorbimento cervicale esterno e sviluppo di nuovi materiali e tecniche biologiche per la terapia endodontica.
È coautore della ESE Position Statement on Root Resorption del 2023, documento di consenso della European Society of Endodontology pubblicato sull'International Endodontic Journal. È autore e coautore di ricerche indicizzate sui fattori predisponenti al riassorbimento cervicale esterno e sugli esiti del trattamento a lungo termine. Contribuisce inoltre al cluster di ricerca KU Leuven BIOMAT, uno dei principali gruppi europei di ricerca sui biomateriali dentali.
