Oltre 40 anni di esperienza accademica e clinica in ortodonzia da quando si è unito alla facoltà della Kyungpook National University. Si è ritirato nel febbraio 2022 dopo una carriera distinta stabilendo la Kyungpook National University come centro internazionale di eccellenza nella ricerca sui microimpianti ortodontici e nell'applicazione clinica. Ha fatto da mentore a numerosi studenti laureati che sono diventati leader nell'ortodonzia in Asia e in tutto il mondo.
