È stato uno dei primi adottatori dei laser dentali negli Stati Uniti, acquistando il suo primo laser, il dLase 300, nel 1991 e iniziando subito a formare i colleghi. Founding Member della Academy of Laser Dentistry, fondata nel 1993, il principale organismo professionale al mondo per educazione e certificazione in odontoiatria laser. Nel corso della sua carriera nell'ALD ha ricoperto i ruoli di Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, President-Elect e President, ha presieduto i comitati Certification, Finance, Future Sites e Scientific Conference, e ha raggiunto tutti e quattro i livelli progressivi di competenza riconosciuti dall'ALD: Educator Status, Advanced Proficiency, Fellowship e Mastership.
