Orofacial pain specialist and Dean of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Founder and Director of the Orofacial Pain Center at the University of Kentucky (established 1977), recognized as a pioneer in TMD and orofacial pain education.

 

Over 50 years of academic and clinical experience in temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain management. Developed the first Master of Science Degree program in Orofacial Pain in the United States, accredited by the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. Editor of "Orofacial Pain: Guidelines for Classification, Assessment, and Management" (AAOP), used as treatment standards worldwide. Over 240 publications in scientific journals. Past President of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. Founding Diplomate and twice Past President of the American Board of Orofacial Pain.
