Direttore del Programma Master in Ortodonzia presso l'Universidad de Santiago de Compostela dal 1996, formando specialisti da tutta Europa e America Latina. Creatore e sviluppatore della tecnica ortodontica Straight Wire Low Friction in collaborazione con Rocky Mountain Orthodontics (Denver, CO). Direttore del Centro Internazionale di Ortodonzia a Santiago de Compostela.
Docente internazionale che insegna corsi su microimpianti, MARPE (espansione rapida palatale assistita da microviti), allineatori e sistemi di trattamento ibridi in Europa e America Latina. Consulente scientifico e clinico per il Governo Spagnolo, Governo della Galizia, Consiglio Dentale Spagnolo e Fondazione Dentale Spagnola. Membro del comitato editoriale di cinque riviste internazionali dentali e ortodontiche.
MD dalla Facoltà di Medicina, Università di Santiago de Compostela (1983). DDS (Stomatologia) dall'Università di Oviedo, Spagna (1985). PhD in Medicina dall'Università di Santiago de Compostela (1985). Master in Ortodonzia dall'Università di Valencia, Spagna. Destinatario di 12 premi e onorificenze professionali tra cui il Premio Rodriguez Abaitua della Real Academia de Medicina de España e il Premio di Ricerca del Consiglio Dentale Spagnolo. Membro della European Orthodontic Society (EOS), Società Spagnola di Ortodonzia (SEDO), World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), International College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy, e membro fondatore di molteplici società ortodontiche spagnole (ONO, AESOR). Autore o coautore di 14 libri di testo dentali e ortodontici, 110 articoli scientifici e 145 presentazioni e poster congressuali.
