Около десяти лет занимает должность директора клиники пародонтологии.

Получил специальность пародонтолога в 1999 году и руководил стоматологическими отделениями многих известных клиник в Германии и Нидерландах.

Опыт его работы пародонтологом в общем составляет более двадцати лет.

В качестве члена различных профессиональных обществ он участвует в обмене опытом с другими специалистами на международном уровне.

Выступал более чем с 200 докладами на специализированных конференциях и был автором/соавтором около 160 научных публикаций.

Professor and chairman of the Department of Periodontology.

Currently, he serves as executive chairman of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Bern.

He is Associate Editor of Quintessence International, Clinical Oral Investigations, Section Editor of BMC Oral Health and Editor in Chief of Oral Health and Preventive Dentistry.

He served from 2009-2010 as president of the Periodontal Research Group of the IADR, is past president of the Swiss Society of Periodontology and president (for the period 2018-2019) of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).

Prof. Sculean has authored more than 400 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 30 chapters in periodontal textbooks and has delivered more than 500 lectures at national and international meetings.
