Full immersion into reconstructive and plastic surgery of soft tissues around teeth and implants awaits you in a practical course with the legendary Giovanni Zucchelli!
Theoretical sessions, hands-on practice, live surgeries, and video demonstrations — all of this will be included in the course.
During the two intensive days of theoretical sessions, you will learn:
– Treatment protocols of single and multiple recessions in the upper and lower jaw
– The author's techniques of mucogingival surgery
– Treatment of recession around implants
– Soft tissue augmentation prior to implant placement.
On the second day of the course, Professor Giovanni Zucchelli will demonstrate live surgery on patients.
The third day will be entirely devoted to practicing hands-on exercises (on a pig jaw).
The number of seats is limited – a maximum of 34 people.
If you use dental surgical loupes, please bring it with you to the practical course.

Professore di parodontologia e implantologia presso l'Università di Bologna, Italia, dal 2000. Si è laureato all'Università di Bologna nel 1988 e ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca in biotecnologie mediche nella stessa università nel 1999. Ha oltre 30 anni di esperienza clinica e accademica, con un focus principale sulla chirurgia plastica parodontale e la gestione dei tessuti molli attorno a denti e impianti.
È autore di oltre 100 pubblicazioni scientifiche su riviste internazionali peer-reviewed, e il suo lavoro clinico e di ricerca ha contribuito in modo significativo allo sviluppo e al perfezionamento degli approcci chirurgici per il trattamento della recessione gengivale e la ricostruzione dei tessuti molli. È destinatario di diversi premi internazionali per la ricerca clinica, tra cui il E. Bud Tarrson Research Award in Oral Plastic Surgery della American Academy of Periodontology Foundation nel 2006 e nel 2008, e il riconoscimento della European Federation of Periodontology. È Associate Editor dell'International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry e membro dei comitati editoriali delle principali riviste di parodontologia.
È autore del libro Mucogingival Esthetic Surgery, pubblicato da Quintessence nel 2012, ampiamente utilizzato come riferimento nel settore. È membro attivo della European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, EAED, della Italian Society of Periodontology, SIdP, della Italian Academy of Osseointegration, IAO, e della European Federation of Periodontology, EFP. È relatore abituale a congressi internazionali e corsi pratici, incluse dimostrazioni chirurgiche dal vivo.

Professoressa associata presso il Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences, DIBINEM, dell'Università di Bologna e parodontologa in libera professione. Il suo focus clinico e di ricerca comprende chirurgia plastica mucogengivale, gestione dei tessuti molli intorno agli impianti, procedure di copertura radicolare e terapia parodontale rigenerativa.
È tra le ricercatrici più attive della scuola Zucchelli di chirurgia plastica parodontale ed è stata citata oltre 5.400 volte su Google Scholar. È prima autrice della revisione sistematica del 2024 EFP Focused Workshop sulle recessioni gengivali multiple. È coautrice di un capitolo del testo Implant Therapy, a cura di M. Nevins e H.L. Wang. Le sue ricerche sono state pubblicate sull'International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry e su altre importanti riviste peer-reviewed. È ITI Fellow dal 2018 ed è stata Visiting Professor presso la San Raffaele University di Milano.
Relatrice ai maggiori congressi nazionali e internazionali di parodontologia, inclusi AAP Annual Meeting e congressi EFP. Fa parte della hands-on faculty di corsi avanzati di chirurgia plastica e ricostruttiva parodontale insieme al professor Giovanni Zucchelli.
